(Milwaukee, WI - February 13, 2019) DOC’S Smokehouse has deep roots and the upmost respect for local public health and safety officers who put their lives on the line as they watch out for us each and everyday. In response to the two fallen Milwaukee police officers in 2018, Officer Charles Irvine, Jr. and Officer Michael Michalski, DOC’S Smokehouse felt particularly moved to reach out to the Milwaukee Police Association Fallen Heroes organize a fundraiser and silent auction to help the families of these officers on Saturday, February 23, 2019 from 11 AM to 11 PM at DOC’S Commerce Smokehouse.

DOC’S is offering a selected menu where all proceeds, in addition to a silent auction and a 50/50 raffle, will go to the Milwaukee Police Association Fallen Heroes. This fund will help offset the cost for travel to Washington DC for Police Week 2019 and beyond, where the officers will be forever memorialized on the National Memorial Police Wall.

The National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Wall in Washington, D.C. honors federal, state and local law enforcement officers who have made the ultimate sacrifice for the safety and protection of our nation and its people. Each May, during National Police Week, the names of the fallen are added to the wall. National Police Week provides officers with the tools to handle the challenges of their career through various networking opportunities and seminars that are focused on officer well-being. This is an opportunity for our Milwaukee Police Officers to process their grief and celebrate their profession and their fallen comrades.

Milwaukee Police Association Fallen Heroes Inc. is a registered 501(c)3 non-profit organization and ensures that your cash donation is tax-deductible (EIN 81-3641391). We are also seeking in-kind donations that will be used at several events we have planned in the coming months for raffles and silent auction. You would be showing your respect and dedication to all officers who have died in the line of duty as well your support for our current sworn officers and would be joining us in our belief that their sacrifice should never be forgotten.

Checks may be made out to Milwaukee Police Association Fallen Heroes Fund Inc. and mailed to 6310 West Bluemound Road, Milwaukee, WI 53213. Questions may be directed to the Treasurer, Sarah Polka. Thank you for your consideration in this matter.
